I hope the sun is shining where you live. It’s kissing my shoulder as I write this.
I have always loved gingham. My mom used to sew clothes for me and my sister when we were little girls and it was always a treat to go to the fabric store and look ( and touch!!) all the different materials. I remember admiring the pink and white gingham ( I have always been a girly girl) and hoping mom would make a Sunday dress for me.
So it should come as no surprise that I am excited for about this trend. But honestly, gingham a trend? I don’t think so. It’s always a sign of spring… of rebirth & fresh air, tiny little sprouts popping up out of the earth after a long winter’s nap. Don’t you think?
Gingham will forever be spring time. I get inspiration from so many places when it comes to wearing colors and trends. Here are a few of my favorites from the internet and Pinterest.
I love the cut of this gorgeous dress above reminiscent of a bygone era. Although it is form fitting , the gingham print keeps it from being overly sexy. This would be pretty to wear to a spring wedding paired with some kitten heels.
On the runway Sonia Rykiel showed this short skater style skirt for Spring 2018. I would wear this with a red tee and matching Keds to hang out with friends.
One of my favorite ways to wear gingham is in the form of a great pair of shorts. Look how Lana Del Ray jazzed up her gingham shorts here with an long blazer. So fun!
I also get inspiration from bloggers like this beauty, Elsie, from Polished Whimsy. This color combination is stunning! And the mix of textures and prints is so now. Elsie is just full of wonderful style ideas that you can wear to work. Check out more of her style here: Polished Whimsy
Still afraid to try gingham? This trend need not be out of your price range. I found this sweet gingham romper by Forever 21.
